User :   Can you please explain me the resons behind this Disease ? and is there any permenant solution for the same? i m very low in confidence because of this

Doctor :   Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition.
Doctor :   In the sense it's a condition which can occur for life long.
Doctor :   The exact cause why this happens is not known.
Doctor :   However previous studies have reported few factors as the cause
Doctor :   Those factors are as follows
Doctor :   1. An autoimmune disorder
Doctor :   2. Genes and heriditary
Doctor :   3. Certain skin conditions such as dry skin individuals, excessive scratching, stress factors, cold weather
Doctor :   These are the few known factors which predispose to skin to develop psoriasis.
Doctor :   Now coming to the treatment.
Doctor :   Medical science has yet to prove a complete cure for this conditions.
Doctor :   The present treatment which are available are to control the condition, to prevent new lesions from occurring, to reduce the severity of the already existing lesions.

User :   I am following UVB once in week and Tab Neotrexate 1-1-1 cycle once in week

Doctor :   Apart from these, i would also suggest you few more modifications.
Doctor :   1. Keep your skin moisturized as much as possible.
Doctor :   Avoid frequent bathing with hot water,
Doctor :   use local moisturisers twice or thrice a day
Doctor :   Moisturisers containing vitamin E is preferrable over normal moisturisers
Doctor :   2. Avoid unnecessary handling of the previously existing psoriasis scales.
Doctor :   3. There are certain medical preparations, that help in reducing the keratinisation and thereby reducing the scales.
Doctor :   You can use such products after discussing with your dermatologist.
Doctor :   4. A good diet containing plenty of fruits and vegetables
Doctor :   5. Proper destressing measures are essential with the other measures.
Doctor :   These measures along with your present medications and PUVA therapy will help control the condition as well as prevent new scales from occuring as well as preventing infections.

Doctor :   Apart from these measures, you also need to rule out certain medical conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism which can contribute to your medical condition or worsen the condition.

User :   I am using elovera lotion as moisturiser
Doctor :   That is natural one and contains a good source of vitamin E.

Doctor :   Also follow up with the other measures that I suggested.
