Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi I have this head pain
Doctor :   ok,
User :   Right on top of my head sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right
Doctor :   ok, since when do you have this pain ?
User :   I have had this pain for about 2 months - I had a head ct scan and MRA done a month ago and only showing and dilated segment of the supraglenoid right internal carotid artery
User :   sometimes when I carry my 2 year old son it hurts and when I blow my nose or yell
Doctor :   well the pain appears to be a vascular in etiology , have you got tested for migraine ?
User :   no
User :   do you think it is serious
Doctor :   no, as the MRI would have picked if its serious
User :   it was a mra - does that make a difference
Doctor :   Mra spots the vascular involvement As you have got a CT scan which rules out the most serious reasons like tumours
User :   it seems as if I work harder or carry something or move around quickly it flares up the pain - it just on the top of my head - do you think that dilated segment could have ballooned out to a anrysm
User :   Can anxiety cause all of this?
Doctor :   could be a chance
Doctor :   No , anxiety headache do not vary with head position
User :   should I have another mra done
User :   its been a month and my md was not concerned about it
Doctor :   i too do have the same idea
Doctor :   a second MRA can say the progress of the supraglenoid right internal carotid artery
Doctor :   i would suggest you to get the scan when the headache is very ferequet , thinking to catch the image of the vessel during the problem which can give a better idea
User :   it sometimes is burning pain
Doctor :   Neurovascular pain do present that some times ,
Doctor :   still the vascular cause be a choice of diagnosis
Doctor :   and a repeat MRA a next step
User :   ok should this be taken care of now - like a go to the er
Doctor :   not an er though , but getting the scan done during in pain will surely give a clear idea
User :   ok
User :   why would this segment be dilated
User :   any idea
Doctor :   could be as a congenital or even due to trauma of drugs
Doctor :   Or*
Doctor :   The cause cannot be made easily
User :   what drugs
Doctor :   drugs like vasodialators ,
User :   my doc thought i was born with it - does that stilll give it a cause to baloon out
Doctor :   betablockers
Doctor :   yes, as i said it could be congenital
Doctor :   yes some triggers like tension anxiety and work can trigger the worsening of the dilatation
User :   ok
Doctor :   Also consult to a vascular surgeon
User :   is that the same as neurosergeon
Doctor :   he would be able to determine the risk involved with the dilated vessel
Doctor :   no , he is a surgeon for blood vessels alone
User :   ok
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye for now
