User :   i just wanna know that can viral hepatatis be detected by any pathological test once i get fully cured?
Doctor :   Are you talking about hepatitis B? or hepatitis A- normal jaundice?
User :   my doctor told me that i am suffering from viral hepatatis
Doctor :   ok- that is usually caused by hepatitis A
Doctor :   which is spread by food/ water contamination commonly
User :   so now am on medication but i have to join a job soon there will be patho logical tests done can this be deceted that i was once infected by this disease? pls help
Doctor :   when did you get viral hepatitis?
User :   December 22 2007 the test report confirmed it and the on job pathologicl test are to be done on or after 20th of feb this year can this be deceted?
Doctor :   most of us in India are immune to Viral hepatitis- that is A- the antibodies to this can be detected by a test- but it is not done as a routine
Doctor :   what test was done on 22 dec 2007- can you tell me the exact report?
User :   but i wil go for the test only when am fully cured so can it be found out that i had this disease before?
Doctor :   If it was Hepatitis B- yes it can be detected- that is the test that is usually done when you apply for a job
Doctor :   If it was simple viral hepatitis caused by Hepatitis A- there will be variations In your liver function tests which will come back to normal as the jaundice reduces
Doctor :   If you can tell me what tests were done- whether it was just your LFT( liver function tests) or ELISA for hepatitis B- I can give you a definite answer
User :   sorry sir i dont understand a bit of those and those reports are not with me now but sir i think the doc told it is normal jaundice

User :   so sir in case of normal jaundice if i appear for the test after 20th feb will it be deceted that i had had jaundice
Doctor :   The tests normally done by companies- will not be able to detect it
Doctor :   once the jaundice has subsided- it takes around 3 months
User :   i wilthanks a lot but what test will detect it for sure?
Doctor :   get your Liver function tests done- before you go to get the blood tests for your job
User :   sir am tensed a lot as i may loose my chance to go for training thats why sir
Doctor :   once the LFT is normal- you can go for the blood tests
Doctor :   Avoid oily foods, alcohol and medications - like pain killers
Doctor :   which can affect the test reports
User :   well sir what i get out of this is that once my LFT is normal then i can for any pathological test without the fear of detection?is it sir?

Doctor :   once the LFT is normal- you can go for the blood tests for your job

User :   sir i wanna ask u once more as my life depends on it how long does it take to get a normal LFT after jaundice? and there is absolutely no medical test to detect it as sir the company am into has a health care branch also apart from software

User :   but in my case its just 2 months sir will i be caught?
Doctor :   you need to get your LFT done before you go for the blood test-
Doctor :   Different people recover differently- what you can do id get your LFT done today and check what the levels are

Doctor :   if you have not got other routine tests done like Hemoglobin, TC,DC,ESR get them done as well
