User :   My brother is 61, and has been having trouble urinating, uti's, and an episode with a LOT of blood in his urine. They just found a fatty tumor in his lower groin area. They did a biopsy, and it is malignant. All they have told him so far is it is a fatty malignant tumor. My husband is an M.D. and suspects liposarcoma. He is going to the surgeon on Thursday, and my brother wants to go on a vacation first before having it removed. Is it possible the two problems go together? I realize this is conjecture at this point, but we are states away and he is not cooperating..thank you
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hello
User :   did you get my initial message
Doctor :   I am reading
Doctor :   is the tumour external ?
User :   No, they found it through a catscan.
Doctor :   Liposarcoma commonly occurs in the external
User :   ok. I know that after they found it on the catscan the doctor was able to manually find it but it was nothing that stuck out.
Doctor :   ok, i get it
Doctor :   but the best diagnosis and the safety involved can only be made by getting a biopsy test of the tumor
User :   ok. perhaps they will do that by thursday. thanks
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Are you there ?
