User :   DR .. i need to talk about my 11 year old daughter
Doctor :   ok
User :   she is recently having a lot of problems at school ..
User :   till last academic year she was one of the top 5 in her class
Doctor :   Please proceed
User :   this year she was down with dengue for about 20 days
Doctor :   Is she well now?
User :   she missed classes and unfortunately she failed for 3 subjects
Doctor :   Ok
User :   yes .. she is weel now .. but her platelet count was very down for some days
User :   noe she has started showing signs of dipression .. and has started lying
Doctor :   She needs time to recover.
Doctor :   She must be depressed because she was a good student and now she has failed
User :   yes .. we know she needs time .. we dont pressurise her for studies etc .. even the teachers are very considereate
User :   but she lies.. a lot recently
User :   about many things .. about friends etc
User :   it has reached an alarming level
User :   should i take her for counsiling
Doctor :   You should talk to her and bring her in confidence so that she can share everything with you
User :   i try my best .. but my husband spends little time with her
User :   i am also at my wits end.. expectations from many ends
Doctor :   Both of you should sit together and talk to her that her health is more important and you all are only worried for her to be well.
User :   I tried that too.. is it related to pre puberty hormonal change or to her disease which she had
User :   she seems to be in a different imaginery world..
Doctor :   This is the age when children do show this behaviour and tend to be lost.
User :   she wants to learn but says that she forgets .. she forgets even books at school
Doctor :   Just keep in mind that this is the age when you need to take her in confidence and be her friend so that she can share everything with you
User :   now .. i cant tell her anything .. because i am scared she is not well
Doctor :   Tell het that you are her best friend and she can talk anything even her problems with you
Doctor :   Why are you scared? Just ask her very politely that does she have any problems? She can have some memory issues because of disease.DO not scold her for everything
User :   I think it is after the disease her memory and learning ability is gone for a toss
User :   how do i help her in her studies
Doctor :   How long has it been since she recovered?
User :   one and a half months
Doctor :   Ok.What are her Platelet counts now?
User :   her final blood check was done around a month back .. when the doctor said it was normal
Doctor :   Then probably she must be fine by now.
User :   yes .. she looks healthy .. but has these tyes of problems .. which came all at a time
Doctor :   You talk to her that why is she not interested in studies. Is something bothering her or what?
User :   yes doctor .. i am planning to take off for a couple of days and be totally with her
Doctor :   Spend time with her. These things cannot be solved by medications.Only talking and counselling can hel
User :   if the same persists .. do u think i need to take her for some sort of cousling
Doctor :   In this age children also get hurt very easily so keep that in mind
User :   ok .. me try talking to her ... she has become sluggish after the disease.. should i make her do more physical things like cycling , skipping etc
Doctor :   DO not force her for anything. Go for a walk with her and then talk
