User :   Hi,
I had bad cramping a few days ago when I was suppose to start my period, and then they just went a way. I am only a few days late for my period, but I am wondering what could cause this. I also haven't been feeling well, I have been tired and my stomach has been feeling strange, like gurgley. I've had a lot of problems with my periods being late, well I think they are late, because they aren't every 28 days. However, I have never gotten cramps and no period.
Doctor :   HI
Doctor :   I am
User :   Hi
Doctor :   What is your age?
User :   24
Doctor :   Did you have regular periods earlier?
Doctor :   When was your last menstrual period?
User :   My periods have always either been a day or two, sometimes later, but I have always had cramps and could tell I was going to start.
User :   May 23rd'
Doctor :   You say that you are unwell this month, why is it?
Doctor :   Are you taking medication for something?
User :   I have had headaches, been tired more during the day, and my stomach has been gurgly, like I'm hungry feeling, but I'm not hungry
User :   no, im not taking any medication
Doctor :   Are you sexually active?
User :   also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but for about 4 years I have had really bad periods, so bad I can't get out of bed.
User :   yes, i am
Doctor :   Are you having protected sex?
User :   no, my boyfriend and I have been trying to have a baby for a year
Doctor :   Did you check with a Urine pregnancy test?
User :   No, I haven't done that yet because I wasn't sure if it was too soon
User :   also, since I have been trying for so long, I was starting to think I can't get pregnant
Doctor :   If you miss the period, it is the right time to check it
Doctor :   So next step is, to check with UPT
Doctor :   If positive, cheers
Doctor :   If negative, wait for some time for periods
User :   Okay, I will do that. Is a year of not getting pregnant a bad sign?
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   Since you had a bad time for periods few years back the periods should get regular
Doctor :   *with periods
User :   okay, and my periods being really bad, what could cause that?
Doctor :   Now?
User :   I haven't had a really bad one in a couple months
Doctor :   You say that your periods are regular and delayed by a day or two, so you would not have problems getting pregnant
User :   but for the past few years, yes
Doctor :   The bad periods with pain during periods are to be investigated and there are many reasons for it
Doctor :   Since you have them regularly for past couple of months
Doctor :   carry on with UPT
Doctor :   If not positive, wait for one more month for period
Doctor :   If no periods, see a Doctor
User :   My periods that are really painful, sometimes cause me to get sick, and I get hot and cold and sweaty, are those symptoms for anything>?
Doctor :   Some women have really painful periods and that time is a nightmare for that women
Doctor :   When tested every thing is normal for them
User :   okay, because I have been told by a few people I know that a cyst of endometreosis can cause that
Doctor :   So painful periods are normal too, but it warrants examination and testing
Doctor :   If these are normal , then you have to live with painful periods by taking pain killers during that time
User :   okay.
Doctor :   If the tests show some cause, the cause is to be treated, E.g Endometriosis
User :   are painful periods or irregular periods sometimes, a cause of infertility?
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Like Endometriosis a factor for infertility
User :   are the symptoms I named anything like those or endometriosis?
Doctor :   As said by me, the symptoms that you mentioned could be normal in a Dysmenorrhoea
Doctor :   Yes your symptoms fit into Endometriosis
Doctor :   but that does not mean that you have one
Doctor :   unless tested
User :   okay, how would I go about getting tested?
Doctor :   First test yourself with UPT

User :   okay, I will do that.
Doctor :   Then Doctor's examination shall reveal few details
Doctor :   If not Ultrasound or CT scan are the other non invasive tests
User :   does a gyno take these tests? or do I get sent somewhere else
Doctor :   Vaginal and Internal examination would be done by Gynecologist
Doctor :   Ultrasound pelvis is done by Gynecologist if it is present in their office
Doctor :   Else they refer to a Radiologist
User :   okay, thank you very much.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye for now
