Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi
User :   After ultrasound tech said ultrasound is good
Doctor :   may i know your age please ?
User :   Just cysts both breasts. Repeat us in 6 months. Is this normal. Told breasts are dense
User :   I am 48
Doctor :   yes i can assure you that the protocol followed in normal ....
Doctor :   the reasn we do a repeat is to see if the cyst is increasing in size or not
Doctor :   do you have any other medical condition ?
User :   Should I b worried. The 6 month repeat scared me
User :   No other conditions
Doctor :   no not at all i can assure you, we can more concerned if we saw a dense mass
User :   Do u think the density may b reason for 6 vs 12 month
Doctor :   cyst are benign and usually subside on their own
Doctor :   and the usual suspect is hormones
User :   They said cysts. I had a single cyst once before. But breasts weren't as dense then
User :   Would density affect frequency of test
Doctor :   fibrocyst are benign conditions
Doctor :   but we do want to follow them up
Doctor :   dont be scared
User :   I guess I am just wondering why six months
Doctor :   because thats the least time we give for any change
User :   Would the increased density necessitate 6vs 12 months
Doctor :   no thats not the case
Doctor :   i can assure you if there was ANYTHING abnormal in your scan then you would have been told to undergo a biopsy
Doctor :   its not taken lightly in the medical science
Doctor :   a cyst is always given a follow up
User :   So is 6 month follow up standard at certain practices
Doctor :   yes it is standard
User :   A few years ago I only needed 12 month follow up for 1 cyst
Doctor :   since the number has increased
Doctor :   so thats why
User :   The first one dissolved on it's own. Now years latter I have more
Doctor :   i can assure you the right procedure is being followed
User :   I shouldn't worry about the six month repeat instead of 12
Doctor :   no thats a normal protocol to follow up
