User :   Can this procedure help me? I am 43 year old female I had an operation 6 years ago to remove to large systs from my sinuses. This helped a little but I am ill with infections all winter and some of the summer as well now. I get every cold known to man and this always develops into a sinus infection which lasts weeks and needs antibiotics and steroids to clear . The main symptom is a violent cough that keeps me awake for nights on end. The discharge is often bright yellow in colour and the problem following surgery now seems to be right in the back of my head. These infections are now running into one another so I am never well I am exhausted and depressed. I have no other health problems. Help!
Doctor :   Pls. give me few seconds to go through your query.
Doctor :   Hi I understand your problem as I have previously had the same, I need some more info to help you better .

User :   Approx 6 years ago
Doctor :   Does your problem start somewhere around midnight - problem in breathing ?
User :   It can do, but usely when I get a cold the cough starts as soon as the sinus gets infected and continues until it is cleared with antibiotics it is exhausting. It goes on all night for about 3 nights with each bout.
Doctor :   Ok, I undersatnd.
Doctor :   How is your eosinophil count at the stage when you have this problem at its height ?
User :   I dont know what that is, but the GP recently tested me for Glandular fever as I have been poorly since December all blood tests were o.k
Doctor :   Was it Infectious mononucleosus ?
Doctor :   Have you been screened with a mono test ?
User :   Dont know what that is sorry
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   I dont think so
Doctor :   For your sinus problem and constant cough I would advise you a series of steps that would require a change in life style pattern and also some medication and diet and physicals.
User :   what would those be?
Doctor :   1. Abstain totally from cold food products and cool drinks and cool water.
User :   why
Doctor :   2. Please prevent yourself to a maximum extent form cold climate.
Doctor :   As most of the cough and cold are due to hypersensitivity reaction that are triggered due to an allergen that our body reacts to unnecessarily thinking it to be harmful or foreign, for which you would have been given anti-histaminines everytime you get a cold.
Doctor :   This is the usual mechanism our body reacts.
User :   I think mine is due to infection
Doctor :   Usually 90% of the cases these are the triggering factors and in some dust or pollen and in some lack of sleep, etc.
User :   I only cough when I have caught a virus and my nose is infected
Doctor :   Superadded to this allergic reaction when the nasal mucosa or pharnx reacts it gets weak afetr fighting the unnecessary nothing and then get s abacterial infection.
Doctor :   Or true after a viral, you get a bacterial infection.
User :   I think it is the latter but why do I get every upper espiratory tract infection known to man.
Doctor :   2. please try to adopt and experiment with my treatment modality .
Doctor :   it will work as i have treated many of these cases.
User :   Which is what, just to avoid cold food and drink and cold climates
Doctor :   3. Please gargle water every day thrice.
User :   Warm water?
Doctor :   4. please use a herbal medication in hot watr and inhale twoice before going to bed and after
