Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr here
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
User :   I had sex with a friend about 3 days ago. We used a condom. However, I noticed maybe 3-4 days prior that he had a cold sore on the outside of his mouth. The sore was not noticeable on the day that we had sex. He performed oral sex on me. I wanted to know the chances of me contracting herpes. I don't know for sure that he had herpes, just nervous.
Doctor :   are u there ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   the possibility of having spread of infection if he had a infection is high
User :   I don't know if he had an infection or herpes....I just remember seeing a small sore 3-4 days prior
Doctor :   but in case it was just a cold sore, without herpetic ulcers , then u need not worry
User :   how would I know?
Doctor :   in case of herpetic ulcers, they would be multiple and very painful
Doctor :   you can apply acyclovir lotion or cream on the sores to treat them
User :   how would I know if he had herpes?
Doctor :   only if he is symptomatic and he has the classic symptoms and he discloses those to you by himself
Doctor :   medically that can be confimed by blood tests, etc
User :   I only saw the one sore days prior. Does this indicate herpes?
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   a single sore may not be herpes
Doctor :   Are u there ?
