User :   hi, my benign tumor on the tongue is now growing. Also have a small lump growing on top. Got a scan which confirmed it was benign but a few weeks after my scan i started getting tingeling and minor sharp pains on my tongue. Also the little lump has grown since and has white outline of the lump. should i be worried? could something have developed since my last scan only 4 weeks ago??
Doctor :   hI,
Doctor :   When did you notice the lump at first ?
Doctor :   i mean the tumor as such
User :   Ive had the lump for over 10 years. It never bothered me and it was confirmed that it was benign. The little lump appeared just before christmas. I got it scanned and nothing cancerous showed up. But its slowly growing and now getting tingling and minor sharp pains on my tongue. I have never felt anything all these years until recently
Doctor :   its not a good sign for a sudden growth in any benign tumors
Doctor :   i would advice a BIOPSY test a must now to know whether there has any histological change occurred
User :   ok, so you think in a few weeks something else could have developed ?
Doctor :   yes, but could be confirmed by biopsy
Doctor :   it could be a cancerous change or even a minor inflammation
User :   ok thank you for your time
Doctor :   you are welcome
