Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   how can i help you
User :   Hi. I posted a query a few days ago about some ear problems I've been having with my right ear. I got a response, but I was thinking of chatting with one of the doctors to see if they could help more.
Doctor :   sure.
Doctor :   We remember your case.
Doctor :   just give us a minute to pull it up
User :   Alright.
Doctor :   any clarification on that regard that you need.
User :   Well, they said that age and history would help them figure out what's actually wrong with the ear, I think.
User :   Something like that, at least.
Doctor :   yes that will rule out certain things that
Doctor :   could be suspected in you
Doctor :   can you give us more details on that..
Doctor :   Age: ;Gender; Occupation: ; Location: User :   I am 19, and I have had my right ear issues twice before. The first time it was just really itchy "right on the inside", and the second time it came back, but I didn't do much with it and it eventually went away on its own. But now, it's itchy, and it's crusty-ish (when I don't put Neosporin on it), and when I do that, I get some... weird red/brown/yellow stuff on my fingertip. Like, a small clump of it. Oh, and: female, student xxxx; if that helps.
Doctor :   Do you have any other health problems?High Blood sugar?
User :   I don't have diabetes or anything. I do have CP in my legs, but I highly doubt that's part of it.
Doctor :   CP?
User :   Cerebral Palsy.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   any other symptoms other than this?
User :   Well, I think it's because of it, but the right side of my jaw aches sometimes when the pain in my ear is really bad.
Doctor :   is you hearing normal or has it some what the affected ear..
User :   Right now it's normal... But this morning, and yesterday, my ear would keep "closing" everytime I yawned, smiled (grin, not just weak smile-ish movements)... things like that. And then I woke up with little bloodstains on my pillow yesterday morning. I guess I somehow scratch it when I move in my sleep or something... I'm not sure. But other than that, it's not nearly as bad as before... At least for now.
Doctor :   have you ever had an ear examination done for this complaint..
User :   Yes. I had my ear examined, washed out, and then "vaccuumed"... a sequence I had to go through twice. Both from the first time it happened.
Doctor :   form your history there are a few things that i could suspect, It could be CSOM chronic suppurative otitis media. with its complications or an external ear infection.
Doctor :   CSOM there is hole in the tympanic membrane.(ear drum)
Doctor :   this is the reason for the closing sensation..
Doctor :   however it could just be an external ear infection since it has not affected your hearing..
User :   I hope it is, at least...
Doctor :   nothing to worry about both with adequate treatment can vbe cured easily..either case a culture of the
Doctor :   secretions will be essential to start you on appropriate antibiotics..
Doctor :   just to contain the infection..
Doctor :   and if there is a hole in the membrane it will require surgery to seal it..
User :   Is the whole able to be, like... obvious? Like... um... How to explain this... Well, okay... If there IS a hole, would I immediately know or would I be oblivious to it until I get it checked?
User :   hole**
Doctor :   it need to be examined through the torch light.and requires a special lens
Doctor :   but it could be seen by some one at home too just that you
Doctor :   will need to pull the ear out wards and upwards and then peep in after clearing the secretions first..
User :   Okay. I'll keep that in mind. I'm sorry, but I need to go... I can come back later, if neccessary. I just have something I have to do. Thank you so much for the talk. I'm glad I got your input. :)
