User :   Is there a way to find out how long you have had it ... maybe by how severe it is?
Doctor :   No You can not say how long you have it

User :   The last time I was tested was almost 4 years ago
Doctor :   Was it positive at that time
User :   no
User :   I have never had a postive test for any std
User :   I couldnt really ask her for may details ... when i was talking to her i was at work
Doctor :   Ok I guess the test that yu underwent yesterday was a local pap smear and DNA probe test
Doctor :   But a blood test is more confirmatory than the local DNA probe test
User :   I read that a blood test doesnt work ... that urine is more accurate
User :   Should he be tested for it or should I just have my doctor give him a perscription as well .. I was told that she can do that
Doctor :   Ask your doctor to prescribe medicine to him
Doctor :   and usually the partner needs the treatment too
Doctor :   even though there are no symptoms
User :   he is allergic to penicillin can he still take the azithromycin?
Doctor :   Yeah
User :   so from what I gather this could be something I have had for some time and not know it and it could be a false positive but she is treating me because it is better to treat asap then wait for the culture to come back?
Doctor :   Perfect, you understood it right
User :   Should I call her back for the culture results?
Doctor :   but you have taken the treatment
Doctor :   I am not sure if they do the culture
User :   ok ... so that is a question I have to ask her
Doctor :   Yes
User :   you have been very helpful ... thank you
