hi. my child is 10 month old and 9.8 kg. has got bad throat .. voice is not clear. doc advised azithral 200 mg over phone..

It is not advisable to discuss the dosages on the online.
then what do i do?
The dosage for children above 6 months is 10 mg/kg on day one(Only one time) followed by 5mg/kg on day 2 and day three(Only one time in a day)
so in your child's case it would be 100mg on day one followed by 50mg on day 2 and 3
I am sorry, there is a small correction
so in case of azithral 100 ( each ml contains azithromycin 20 mg) would it be 5 ml ?
there are two regimens, one is 3 day regime and another is 5 day regime
please tell me abt 5 day regime
in the 3 day regime, you have to give 10mg/kg once a day for 3 days
in the other one, you give 10mg/kg on first day and from day 2 to day 5 you give 5mg/kg once a day
so azithral 100 would be 5 ml on day one?
if each ml contains 20 mg, for 100 mg you will have to give 5 ml, and for 50 mg you have to 2.5 ml

Ibugesic plus will decrease the pain and fever
so it is better to give it as advised

just asked abt azithral doses.. due to throat infection / irritation / taste of medicine etc .. kid is vomiting when we gave the medicine
tried twice.
Children do spit out the medicines,
it is quite common
relax, and try to give the medicine mixed in something your baby likes to drink
what is they way out.. some food/ milk also came out alongwith
can it be mixed with anything.. eg cerelac, milk, water?
The medicine tastes good, so it should not be problem if you mix it in small quantity of milk or water

whatever you have given now, at least some of it would have stayed in the stomach
though the food also came out alongwith .. still some of it would have remained?
You can also take your baby to the pediatrician in the morning and see if she/he needs any medicine for vomiting
