User :   Hi, my 7 month old daughter is having chest congestion n slight wheezing since three days. She's been nebulising twice daily and been prescribed sal mucolite and omnacortil forte (4ml daily). Is the prescription fine?

User :   some home remedy like gargling n all?
Doctor :   yes, you can try with gargling, but with careful training with very small sips of water
Doctor :   along with nebulization , you can also try giving her 2-3 drops of honey with 1 drop of ginger juice in it
Doctor :   about 2 - 3 times a day

Doctor :   give her warm sips of milk with almonds (powdered and boiled in milk)
Doctor :   watch out for development of any new symptoms

Doctor :   like runny nose, nose block, fever, excessive cough, vomit, blood/mucus (excess) in vomit, chills and rigors etc
User :   she does hav runny nose aftr inhalation n nebulisation...
User :   n she also coughs wen thr is more congestion, i feel

User :   N i forgot to mention tat she has just recovered frm measles
User :   n tis congestion set in
Doctor :   ok. measles reduces immunity in children predisposing to viral infections

Doctor :   yes with milk they can, she is 7 months you need to start her on home foods

Doctor :   the measure is 1 spoon boiled in 250 ml of milk.

Doctor :   but the child needs it now, so small amounts you need to give her exclusively
User :   but she has mashed veggies like potatoes, beans, carrots, t pulp of drumsticks n all

User :   it is t milk powder u get for babies

User :   she still, I do not giv her cow milk
Doctor :   avoid outside feeds, they tend to make bowel sensitive
User :   so, i boil almonds in water n add to milk powder?
Doctor :   cow milk is more natural, you can give her safely in dilution
Doctor :   dilute it in 2:1 ratio and boil it
Doctor :   and she can be given.
