Doctor :   I am Dr AAAAAAA
User :   Hi doctor..
Doctor :   Please give me a few moments to go through answer your question better
Doctor :   May I ask you a few more questions pertaining to your problem ?
User :   sure doctor...
Doctor :   ICA , Does it stand for Internal Carotid or Intra Cerebral Artery ?
Doctor :   May I know your age please ?
Doctor :   And any other Cardio-vascular complications like Atrial fibrillation, previous history of MI ?
User :   I believe it is carotid (not sure) I am 43 years old - no other complications nor previous history of MI
Doctor :   That is very nice that you are not a Cardio-vascular patient.
Doctor :   Have you had a surgery intracranially or extracranially for the Aneurysm ?
User :   I had coiling with stent of intra-cranial aneurysm (Unruptured)
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   I feel the following underlying points to be a major cause of worry : Doctor :   1. Monitoring blood pressure almost every two days.
Doctor :   If at all it goes up beyond 130/90 , it is alarming as it can cause extra clots.
Doctor :   2. Any paralytic symptoms in face like deviation of the mouth or weakness in the eye or unable to close the eyes or the mouth or unable to chew or even not able to secrete saliva can be a cause of worry.
User :   mouth felt like it wants to "Droop". Also, historically, my blood pressure is seems to be on the low side. should I still monitor this?
Doctor :   3. Any abnormal sensation like tingling or abnormal sensation or numbness or partial paralytic or any palsy in any part of the limb has to be immediately attended to.
Doctor :   Yes , I feel monitoring the Blood Pressure has to be very important factor as you tend to be more prone to Secondary hypertension in these scenarios due to renal or adrenal or other sympathetic etiology.
User :   Thank you doctor. Before my arm goes limp, i get prickly sensations in my hand first which lasts as long as the floppy feeling on the arm. Could Lipitor or plavix cause (mimic) these muscle weaknesses?
Doctor :   4. Sometimes it is associated with Blurring of vision or Higher cerebral function issues like Loss of memory - Short term or long term.
Doctor :   Yes you are absolutely right that before you loose the strength in the muscle it starts with the sensory loss which is the first to be affected in nerve tracts and cerebrum.
Doctor :   5. So i would suggest that loss of sensation for more than 30 mins. has to be considered an emergency
Doctor :   6. Or even drooping of eyelids or saliva drooling .
Doctor :   I would recommend you that a small step wise analysis of your own self every morning and evening , Please follow the following steps on a chart and please keep track pf it : Doctor :   Hope I am clear and am not confusing you ?
User :   Thank you doctor- you have helped me a lot! I will keep monitoring my symptoms esp those you have mentioned so I can make the right call (whether or not I go to Emergency). One last question, what exactly do I analyse in the AM and PM?
Doctor :   Yeah that is what i wanted to advise you to keep track , please note them down and analyse them every day : Doctor :   1.Lack of control over the bladder or bowels
Doctor :   2. Inability to recognize or identify sensory stimuli (agnosia)
Doctor :   3.Lack of coordination and balance, clumsiness, or trouble walking
Doctor :   4.Personality, mood, or emotional changes,Confusion or loss of memory
Doctor :   5. Most Important : Changes in sensation, involving touch, pain, temperature, pressure, hearing, and taste,Difficulty swallowing,Difficulty writing or reading
Doctor :   6. Numbness or tingling on one side of the body, Muscle weakness of the face, arm, or leg (usually only on one side of the body
Doctor :   Hope you have followed .
