User :   I am a 21 yr old female that is curious to what a white discharge is coming from or around my urethra? I have had it for as long as I can remember and have seen a gyn before and nothing was ever said about it. It doesnt itch nor does it hurt to urinate. I have recently become sexually active so I doubt that it would be chlamydia or gonorrhea since I have had the discharge longer than that. I notice it more often when I have held my bladder from urinating when I get busy or there is no restroom around.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   Do you find any factors that aggravates this discharge.
User :   not that I am aware of, I notice it more when I am not drinking enough water in the day but I am not sure of the cause
Doctor :   Is it related to your menstrual cycle?
User :   no it isnt
User :   I didnt know if it was the skenes gland or my urethra
User :   because it comes from that area
User :   just about my vagina
Doctor :   Do you notice foul smell?
Doctor :   Do you have itching, burning sensation?
User :   yea it does have a bit of a smell
User :   but I have never had any itching or burning
Doctor :   Do you have any other medical illness?
User :   there are no lesions in the area and can be wiped off easily
User :   no i dont
User :   as long as I keep the area dry it doesnt appear
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
User :   ok
Doctor :   White discharge without any symptoms is a normal phenomena that can occur secondary to hormonal changes, (those hormones which regulates the menstrual cycle) or
Doctor :   or due to the secretions of the genitalia gets mixed with the dead cells ( referred to as smega)
Doctor :   Both these are non concerning problems and do not need any treatment.
Doctor :   However, occasionally infections specifically fungal infections or bacterial vaginosis can cause the same white discharge.
Doctor :   They can be determined by physical examination and by smear test alone.
User :   oh ok
Doctor :   Hence you can consider, discussing with the dermatologist and get a swab/smear test
Doctor :   if your symptoms are persisting or
Doctor :   if your symptoms are severe or
User :   so I dont nessicarly have to see on gym?
User :   gyn*
Doctor :   if you notice other symptoms such as foul smelling discharge, severe itching, or burning sensation.
Doctor :   * sorry consulting a gynaecologist.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
