Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query
User :   Hello dr. AAAAAAA
User :   I had intense stomach pains
Doctor :   how can I help you?
User :   i went to the hospital and I was given some IV's and some pills
User :   the problem is I live in China, I don't necessarily know what is wrong with me
Doctor :   please describe your symptoms in detail. I will try to help you understand.
User :   It started with the stomach pain, the doctor prescribed me antibiotics - amoxicillin and some painkillers
User :   I believe it's an infection of some kind
User :   the pain was a stabbing pain below the sternum and about an inch below the navel, but the entire belly was under intense pressure, and walking was quite painful
User :   after a day or two, this was relieved
User :   however, the 2nd day I went to work and started shaking uncontrollable as if I was very cold
User :   for about 20 minutes
User :   I went home to sleep and warm up
User :   since then I've been taking antibiotics but still have fevers nearly every night
Doctor :   ok. how did these episode start? was it sudden onset? or did it got precipitated due to any activity or food?
User :   sudden onset
User :   it may have been food
User :   the night before I'd tried two new restaurants
User :   one of which was German food, which my body's not used to as I've gotten accustomed to Chinese food at this point
Doctor :   ok. did you have nausea, or vomiting or loose stools associated?
User :   nausea but not vomiting, I was unable to vomit
User :   I also had a lack of appetite for several days, my appetite is now back
User :   I ate a steady diet of fruit for two days thinking it was food poisoning
User :   however, the pain has moved to the fin area of the back
Doctor :   ok. then it could been food poisoning issues to something that your stomach did not get accustomed to
User :   in the kidney region
Doctor :   ok.
User :   I'm also unable to erect
User :   could it be a urine tract or kidney infection?
Doctor :   is there any burning or pain associated with passing urine?
User :   no there isn't.
Doctor :   is there pain in lower abdomen near bladder when you pass urine?
User :   i'm thinking
User :   normally when you want your urine to "shoot further" away you can use an internal muscle
Doctor :   ok
User :   that muscle feels sore or tired and initially I urinate fine but towards the end I can't push the last out because the muscle is tired
User :   no pain, though.
Doctor :   ok. lease provide your age, height and weight
User :   24, 5'11, 260-270lbs
Doctor :   is there any pain on sitting for long hours? is there pain or discomfort associated with passing stools?
User :   sitting and lying are no problem, but standing is tiring for the lower back, above the bottox
Doctor :   if the soreness continues to be present, then you should consider getting an urine examination done.
Doctor :   were blood test done for you? if yes could you tell if anything was found to be abnormal?
User :   they told me in chinese and my chinese is less than perfect. I was just going there for pills and got wound up in doing one.
User :   so unfortunately i'm not sure
Doctor :   ok.
User :   I've been told to drink a lot of fluids, the most of what I'm drinking is coffee. is that a problem?
User :   and I'm still taking the antibiotics
Doctor :   just check with your treating doctor if kidney and liver function tests were done, and ask for the copies of results
Doctor :   avoid caffeinated beverages, go ahead with drinking water or cranberry juice
Doctor :   plain water about 8-10 glasses per day and rest should be fresh juices
User :   would other juices work? I can't buy cranberry juice here.
Doctor :   you can go ahead with other juices like orange, sweetlime, grapes etc
User :   bottled is fine, then?
Doctor :   without preservatives and without added sugar is fine.
User :   Okay.
User :   Anything else I should keep in mind?
Doctor :   avoid any activities that aggravate symptoms
Doctor :   keep diet bland, with no spice and oil
Doctor :   also, avoid potato, cabbage, cauliflower in diet
Doctor :   they can increase stomach pain and symptoms.
User :   what should I eat instead?
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   yes I can follow it
Doctor :   you take all others, except meat diet and athe above mentioned vegetables
User :   although it's very difficult to find food without spice and oil where I live. :) It will be a challenge.
User :   okay
Doctor :   you can give it a try. try with taking steamed food with less spice
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   No, I thought I was going to die. You've been a terrific help to a foreigner stuck in china with no one who speaks english very well. Thank you.
