Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr. xxxxx
Doctor :   Pl proceed with your query
User :   hello I needed some advice for my small kid
User :   2 months old
Doctor :   Ok
User :   He has been healthy all along..
User :   just today he has vomitted for 2-3 times
User :   and restless
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Is this the first time yet?
User :   yes the first time..
Doctor :   Is he running temperature?
User :   no temperatur
Doctor :   Cold, cough or ear discharge?
User :   after feed when he hold him while he take a burp..he vomitted then
Doctor :   Any person in the family suffering any infection?
Doctor :   Is he on breast feeds?
User :   He had cough for last couple of days..and he was given Mucolyte by the doctor
User :   Yes on breast feeds
User :   no one in family with infection
Doctor :   Is the cough reduced now?
User :   Yes it has reduced.. and we stopped giving medication as well.. as doctor had asked to stop after symptoms reduce
Doctor :   Now let us come about vomitings?
User :   ok
Doctor :   How many exactly?
User :   3
Doctor :   What is the time difference between them?
User :   exactly after feed each time
User :   just now the 3rd time...
User :   around 6- 6:30 he had done twice
User :   6:30PM I meant
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   What does the vomit contain?
User :   Milk... and little bit of cough mucus(flem) very little though...
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Ok, I understood the problem
User :   alright
Doctor :   Actually your kid is very fine
Doctor :   He has no illness
User :   ok
Doctor :   After a recovery of illness like cough and just recovered
Doctor :   it takes a bit of more time for the gut to settle down
Doctor :   and it does not accept the feeds as it was
Doctor :   So it takes 48 hours to settle down
Doctor :   Hence practice slow and frequent and small feeds
Doctor :   till 48 hours
User :   Last medication was given about 2 days back.
Doctor :   You should not give 'on demand feeds' and more in quantity for 24 hours
User :   and symptoms had reduced 2 days back as well..
Doctor :   Yeah
Doctor :   No problem
User :   So 48 hours would have passed.
Doctor :   I know
User :   he is sleeping peacefully now
Doctor :   This is not vomiting it is called Possetting in medical terminology
Doctor :   This is very much normal in 2 month children
User :   ok
Doctor :   The only thing you have to do is
Doctor :   small feeding in proper feeding technique
Doctor :   and putting the kid on shoulder and pat on the back after the feed
Doctor :   so that the feed slowly trickles down by gravity
User :   ok. We are doing that. But he had vomitted when we had him on the shoulder
User :   we will resort to the small feeds technique as mentioned by you
Doctor :   Yes the possetting happens on shoulder
Doctor :   No worries
Doctor :   This is normal
User :   ok thank you for your advice.. Extremely appreciated
User :   1 other thing.
User :   This is our second kid. And we think that he cries more than our daughter did.
User :   And he prefers that he be taken in the standing position on the shoulder
Doctor :   Ok do it
User :   he starts crying after some time, when he is resting in the lap
Doctor :   Each kid is different
Doctor :   You should not or cannot compare them
User :   No not comparing .. Sorry did not mean to say that
Doctor :   Fine
User :   Because he always prefers to be carried only in standing position
User :   i wanted to know..could it be that any gases etc are bothering him
Doctor :   This is not the age for such botheration
Doctor :   It is just he prefers that
User :   ok. I had read on this web-site about the Colic issues
Doctor :   It is not related with the current problem
User :   ok
User :   Thank you. That is all
Doctor :   Pleasure
Doctor :   Is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   Will end chat now.. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated
User :   That is all. thank you
Doctor :   Good night
