User :   I'm a 60 year old, postmenopausal, well educated woman with a family history of dementia. A couple of years ago i really began noticing changes in my thinking. I had started a new job and I was completely fogetting people's faces..not just their names. I was forgetting meetings I had attended. Went to see my internist who believes it is all stress (I've suffered from major depression and according to his diagnosis also bipolar). I find it very difficult to concentrate and often have to reread something several times to remember it. Why I'm writing now is that I'm leaving my current job and I needed some advice from our XXX group on how to copy some documents on my computer. Well, I know this guy,XXX, who does all our XXXwork. I went up to who I thought was XXX and began telling him my wasn't XXX, it was actually someone else in the company I worked with on a project. I was so embarrassed and humiliated...and now I'm just so afraid that this is so much more than stress. I don't have any family and it scares me to think of what will happen to me. Sorry for the length..but the stress of starting a new job along with what just happened this week has frightened me. I also just had a hormone blood panel taken and I have 0 levels of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Could this be contributing to this?
