User :   Hi Doctor.
Doctor :   Dr AAAAAAA here
User :   XXXXXXXX here. My son is 9 years old and have some query regarding him
Doctor :   please proceed with your query
User :   His vacations ar going on and he plays quite a lot. Goes down in the evening at 5 pm and comes at 10 pm. Even at home he is active. For the past 2-3 days, i have been noticing that he breathes normally for some time and then takes a long breath. He says that this is happening during play and post it for some time for the last 2-3 days. He is ok once he eats his food. He sleeps and eats well. when he wakes up in the morning he is normal. He also has a bit of a throat irritation
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   since when does he have throat irritation ?
User :   i think for the last 2-3 days only. His voice is a bit hoarse and it pains him a little
Doctor :   does he have cough ? nose block? running nose >
User :   No. a slight nose block. but nothing major
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   does he get very breathless at times ? or is he able to tolerate it ?
User :   he is able to tolerate it. It normally happens in the eveing when he is playing. He mentions taht during play he drinks water and he feels ok. When he comes up after playing he eats his dinner and he is ok ...
Doctor :   have you got him examined by a doctor so far?
User :   i just did it today. the doctor mentions that it is bronchitis and has asked him not to play for 5 days. he has given him Bricanyl for 5 days. Has asked me to show him again if the condition does not improve
Doctor :   generally when there is a respiratory infection , the child will feel breathing difficulties
User :   ok
User :   he dosent have the classic cold symptoms
Doctor :   once the infection subsides , the airways will become normal so that breathing happens easily
User :   ok
Doctor :   hence giv e it time
Doctor :   it is not necessary that cold and cough is compulsory to be present
User :   ok.
Doctor :   since the doctor has run a stethoscope examination , it will be the right finding
Doctor :   i suggest meanwhile he do warm salt water gargles for throat infection
User :   ok. i was a bit worried as normally when he has a cold and cough he has wheezing but not breathlessness
Doctor :   do not worry
Doctor :   wheezing can b associated with breathlessness
Doctor :   he will get well soon
User :   Thanks doc. is the medicine ok
Doctor :   if the breathlessness remains later , then we may need to do some investiagtions
Doctor :   yes , the medicine is fine
Doctor :   continue it
User :   do i do a x ray for him
Doctor :   right now not needed
Doctor :   if the condition does not improve he may need an x ray
User :   ok.
Doctor :   did you follow my suggestions
User :   Yes i did ..
Doctor :   are there anymore questions for me?
