User :   I am pretty positive I broke my baby toe about 2 months ago now, and it has been hurting ever since, but last night all the sudden I am now getting a stabbing pain in that toe, as if the bone is stabbing it inside, this pain is new. What do I do about it? I have no health insurance, but need help. Thank you
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Iam.Dr...
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Let M e read your query
Doctor :   Was it broken then?
Doctor :   i mean the bone
Doctor :   was it bandaged for 3-4 weeks
User :   It was broke, but never healed I guess, and no I did not keep it bandaged
Doctor :   then it will be the non healing edges
Doctor :   of the bone that is causing the pain
Doctor :   did you do an repeat xray
Doctor :   A doctor may take an X-ray to evaluate if the toe is broken or fractured. X-rays are not always necessary to diagnose a broken toe, especially if the break is in one of the smaller toes.
Doctor :   Stress fractures, due to overuse or repetitive movement, may need an MRI to be diagnosed.
User :   no, I never went in, the reason I say it was broke was by the fact it bruised immediately
Doctor :   A broken toe can be can be treated at home (providing it is not necessary to see a doctor or go to the emergency room for treatment). The following can be done to help decrease pain and swelling from a broken toe and to help the fracture heal properly.
User :   and never quit hurting and kept hitting it
Doctor :   so you never had an xray
User :   no
User :   because the internet said it was not necessary
Doctor :   so xray is required to rule out the fracture
Doctor :   and for treatment
Doctor :   but in every case it is not so
Doctor :   as the bones ligaments
Doctor :   and some other soft tissuess are the sites of injury
User :   I know, I just wanted to forget about it, but now I am afraid I really messed it up more
Doctor :   do try buddy bandaging
User :   I have it now, so you think I still need an xray?
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   since with that too your pain
Doctor :   is not decreasing
User :   ok, thank you so much
Doctor :   is there anything else i can help you with now?
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting.......
User :   no I guess not, thanks again
Doctor :   Bye for now...........
Doctor :   Take care...................
