User :   I need to speak to a doctor who knows maybe a little about neurology and alot about spastisity.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr.Bharath here
User :   Hello
Doctor :   I can help you with your query
User :   I've had some strange things going on and I'm not sure what to do
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Proceed with your symptoms
User :   I have been seeing a Neurologist and he said I have brisk reflexes and some ankle clonus
Doctor :   Ok
User :   but he has already ruled out MS
User :   and stroke
User :   diabetes
User :   thyroid
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   That is good enough
Doctor :   so you mentioned about brisk reflexes
Doctor :   is it same on both sides?
Doctor :   meaning brisk on both ride and left side?
Doctor :   'right
Doctor :   Are you typing something?
User :   I only see what u send back
User :   ok thats better
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   So, we can proceed now
User :   yes
Doctor :   Can you answer my last question
Doctor :   are the reflexes brisk on both right and left sides?
User :   yes he said it was equel on both sides
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Are you having any other symptoms?
User :   a little vertigo, but he told me that was my anxiety
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   May I know your age?
User :   39
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   When was this detected?
User :   4 months ago
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   What was the reason for consultation?
User :   I went to the E.R because I had been having some nausia at night followed by diarea the next morning and loud bowel sounds and I told them I felt very shaky and my legs where shaking when I went down the stairs and they check reflexes and there was the ankle clonus
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Do you have anything else to explain?
Doctor :   or inform me about?
User :   well the tighness in my back is really starting to scare me, I dont know if I've strained it or if it is spastisity, and I do have some muscle twitching but he said he didnt think the twitches were anything other than anxiety. because there all over
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   I do go with anxiety
Doctor :   it does cause muscular spasms or lesser contractions all over
Doctor :   But, do you think, you have anxiety?
Doctor :   You will know your mind better
User :   I was diagnosed with panic disorder 20 yrs ago
Doctor :   Ok, then that does support
Doctor :   Now, coming to your query about brisk reflexes
Doctor :   if it is bilaterally symmetrical and brisk
Doctor :   without any other complaints
Doctor :   after ruling out stroke, MS and similar autoimmune disorders
Doctor :   it is considered to be normal one or benign in better terms
Doctor :   that is it does not cause any harm
User :   so the thing with me feeling unbalanced when I walk doesnt mean I'm getting a upper motor neuron disease like PLS?
Doctor :   Nothing like that, you did mention about vertigo
Doctor :   that is more common cause for imbalance
User :   ya i do feel it while sitting also, thats why I thought is was vertigo, or maybe me just not being mobile enough for the past 4 months
Doctor :   ofcourse with training it does come down
Doctor :   there are labyrinthine exercises, which are helpful
Doctor :   have you heard about it?
Doctor :   Are you with me?
User :   ya but once again I cant see what I send you so I dont know if your getting what I send
User :   I can see that one, lol
Doctor :   I have not got anything about my question on labyrinthine exercises
User :   I sent ya that I have heard of it and looking into it
User :   you still there
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   It is quite effective
Doctor :   in resolving vertigo
User :   ok i will ask doc about where I can get it done
User :   can I ask you another question
Doctor :   Sure, proceed with it
User :   I sent you a question I dont think you got, do you think the tighness in my back is not spastisity then? and the muscle twitches arnt of any concern?
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   I shall explain you
Doctor :   Now where is the tightness you are referring to
Doctor :   is it in lower back?
User :   its towards my upper back maybe the middle, feels very tight on left side and the tightness radiates out
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   It is muscle catch like situation
Doctor :   strong contractions
Doctor :   rather than spasticity
Doctor :   Have you followed up with a Neurologist after you were diagnosed with brisk reflexes?
User :   yes, and I see him again wednesday, but thats because of me, not because he needed to see me back
Doctor :   Ok, you should calm down more then
Doctor :   should not worry
Doctor :   you have confirmed it
Doctor :   and now you should not keep thinking about it
Doctor :   Do you practice any relaxation exercises?
User :   not rite now, I've been very worried these symptoms are an neurological disease, I'm very scared
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   So start a relaxation exercise from now on
Doctor :   Start off with a soothing, relaxing, blissful walk for 20 minutes per day
Doctor :   It shall calm you down
User :   I would be happy to try that, as long as your confident about the tighning not being spastisity, Its hard to breath rite when its very tight, and then the anxiety kick in and I cant tell if I'm breathing rite or not
Doctor :   I do understand
Doctor :   You should start now
Doctor :   No problems
Doctor :   Report back to me after 2 weeks
Doctor :   Is that fine with you?
Doctor :   Mr.XXX I am waiting for your answer
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   are you getting my responses
Doctor :   No, I am not able to see that
User :   I dont know what to do to fix it
Doctor :   Ok, I do not see problem at this end
Doctor :   as other chats are going fine
Doctor :   Anyway, could you please resend your response?
User :   so you dont think there is something more scarey working on me like a UMN??
Doctor :   Not at all
User :   even with the muscle twitching
Doctor :   You should not worry about motor neuron disorders for now
Doctor :   Relaxation will do the trick
Doctor :   Try relaxation with full effort but not getting stressed to relax(just joking)
Doctor :   and report to me after 2 weeks
Doctor :   let us assess the improvement
User :   how do I get you spesificly
Doctor :   You can ask for Dr.XXX
Doctor :   It shall be redirected to me if picked by another doctor
Doctor :   I shall be available in this time
