User :   There is still blood in my urine today and I still have dull flank pain.
Doctor :   k
User :   Should the blood be gone by now, and the pain?
User :   this is day 3 of blood in urine
Doctor :   why did they advise antibiotics for that
Doctor :   didn't they investigate your case
User :   they said it's either an infection or kidney stone, they took a urine sample and sent it for culture
User :   results should be tomorrow
Doctor :   can you tell me few details before we proceed
User :   sure
Doctor :   see in case of infection it takes 3 to 5 days for recovery
Doctor :   in case of urinary stone it has to be dissolved or removed
User :   will the urine culture tell them if it is a stone?
Doctor :   No it will not
User :   what details did you want to know?
Doctor :   it only tells what kind of infection does it cause
Doctor :   your age occupation gender
User :   i am 32, female, medical transcriptionist
Doctor :   k
Doctor :   since how many days you are having the pain
User :   3 days now
User :   blood and pain started 3 days ago in the morning
Doctor :   does the blood is mixed with urine or it comes at the end or in the begining of urine
User :   it is mixed, the urine is just dark colored
User :   no clots
User :   completely mixed
Doctor :   k
Doctor :   dark in the sense brown or red or black
User :   brownish orange
User :   not black
User :   the doctor did say there was "a lot" of blood
Doctor :   k
User :   it is very visible
Doctor :   is there any foul smell
User :   no, not really
Doctor :   there are no chances .. the urine appears coloured
Doctor :   but the amount is vey very little
Doctor :   don't worry
User :   ok
Doctor :   so where exactly is the pain]
User :   last 2 days it was right flank.....around the waist and also coming toward the front
User :   felt somewhat like ovulation pain, but i am not ovulating now
User :   today it is left side
Doctor :   is it just above your private part.. that is near bladder position
User :   the pain doesn't actually reach my bladder, it is more to the side
Doctor :   k do you have fever
User :   low grade fever yesterday...99.5, don't know about today
User :   i have a chill now and then, but nothing severe
Doctor :   do you find the radiating pain anywher else
User :   no, today is just concentrated in my left flank and not coming toward the front today
Doctor :   so in your case i probably think it can be a cause of infection
Doctor :   the reason is the blood is completely mixed with urine
Doctor :   and u have fever
Doctor :   and your age doesn't suit for stones
Doctor :   do you have bp or sugar or any other illness
User :   no, no illnesses
User :   so i should just keep taking the cipro then i suppose
Doctor :   and also the pain is shifting from side to side
Doctor :   ya keep continuing with that antibiotic and take some analgesic and antiinflammatory combination
Doctor :   once the culture report is out then u can switch on to higher antibiotic in case it is not relieved by then or it is sensitive
User :   Ok, I will do that. Thank you for your help. You were more thorough and helpful than the doctor I saw in person. She was pretty awful.
User :   I was very worried I had a stone.
Doctor :   is there anything else that i can help you with
User :   That's all, thank you again
Doctor :   wish you good health and better recovery
User :   thank you
Doctor :   if the blood is not decreasing then u contact us anytime
Doctor :   we are available 24/7
User :   ok, wonderful
User :   thanks again, bye bye
