User :   I just had my period about 2 weeks ago and I started bleeding again yesterday. I took a home pregnancy test today and it came up negative. Is it possible I could be pregnant?

Doctor :   when was your last menstrual period before this one?
Doctor :   are your periods regular?
User :   About 2 weeks ago
Doctor :   how many days do you normally have the bleeding?
User :   I'm on loestrin24 and my periods have usually only been lasting about a day, and this last one was 4
Doctor :   is the bleeding heavy like your normal periods
User :   not usually
Doctor :   sometimes the breakthrough bleeding can happen when you are on hormonal pills
User :   I also had surgery back in september because i had a dermoid cyst growing in my right ovary, and since then my periods have been very light
Doctor :   get yourself checked, and repeat the pregnancy test after 10 days again
User :   but doesn't that usually only happen if you're starting a new birth control pill?
Doctor :   and if it still comes negative,a nd you start having early symptoms of pregnancy, then stop the pills
Doctor :   and take a blood beta HCG hormone test
Doctor :   along with a pelvic ultrasound
