User :   Hi, may I answe
Doctor :   hello
User :   hi, i am a 21 year old female and for a month now i have had a sore throat sinus problems and ear problems. two weeks ago i went to the doctor and was told i had an ear infection
User :   i received antibiotics for it and the infection was gone but was told i still had liquid behind the ear drum
User :   also my sinuses still bothered me and i kept having a sore throat and a cough thatd last a day or two
User :   i was prescribe motrin 600 mg every 6 hrs
User :   and clarytin d
User :   that was last thursday
User :   however my throat now has a minty cool feeling
User :   and i find it hurts more
User :   at the moment it doesnt but at times itll feel very sore
Doctor :   do you have any fever ?
User :   three weeks ago while on antibiotics i experienced this clicking in m right ear everytime i chewed and it hasnt gone away
User :   i had fever thatd last for a couple of minutes and would go away
User :   so far it hasnt happened in a couple of days
User :   ive just gotten the chills a bit
User :   but that goes away too
User :   im just scared its something like cancer
Doctor :   what all medications are you on right now
User :   my doctor said my ear infection went away, there's just excess liquid now
User :   last thursday i was prescribed motrin
User :   600 mg
User :   and clarytin d
User :   to ease up my sinuses
Doctor :   any relief
Doctor :   ?
User :   my sinuses have gotten a bit better
Doctor :   ok now lets get one thing clear
User :   but my throat, im now experiencing a cool minty feeling and it'll be sore for hours
Doctor :   you DONT have any cancerous condition
Doctor :   that i can assure you
Doctor :   all you do have is a persistent infection
User :   i see
User :   my doctor said it might be a virus?
User :   i dont know
User :   im just tired, the symptoms started off small. a bit of pain the throat and now its changed to a minty cool feeling and really sore feeing at times
Doctor :   that can be a possibility , now in your case we do need to treat the symptoms
Doctor :   you do need to gargle with warm saline water
Doctor :   which will give relief
User :   i see
User :   a few nights i was doing research on the cool minty feeling and i found that acid reflux might be a possibility
User :   in the past i have had food regurgitation, mostly after i ate large meals
User :   however sometimes even if i eat a large meal, it wont happen
Doctor :   now i want you to do one thing
Doctor :   for the next 14 days do take this medicine PRILOSEC 20 MG once a day
User :   i see, i've tried eating slower and smaller meals
User :   although i didnt have regurgitation
User :   i burped a bit
User :   and some small amount of substance came up that tasted like what i just eaten
User :   no food though
Doctor :   thats reflux
Doctor :   dont worry please do take the course of medicine that i have told you
User :   im worried because the reflux has been going on for 3 three years, never constant
User :   mostly after eating large meals
User :   however lately its gotten more constant
User :   so im scared my esophagus has been scarred
User :   ive read the dangers of that
User :   and the cancer risk
Doctor :   and you have taken no medicatons right ?
User :   no, i know it's dumb but i never paid attention to it since it didnt happen that often
Doctor :   dont worry
Doctor :   just take this for 14 days and you will be fine
Doctor :   there is nothing serious
Doctor :   and the infection would require a further examination and extension of the antibiotics
User :   even if i havent taken any medication for the reflux and it's been years? i read about Barrett's esophagus
Doctor :   please dont be misguided by the internet .. your condition was related to large consumption of food
Doctor :   as a trigger
Doctor :   have you lost weight recently ?
Doctor :   rapid loss?
User :   no, i havent. i have tried to eat smaller meals and that small amount of acid will come up. not much
User :   so that's why im concerned
User :   just in recent days
Doctor :   dont worry
Doctor :   just tkae PRILOSEC 20 Mg AND YOU WILL FIND relief
User :   i see
User :   so there's no chance that the reflux has anything to do with my throat pain
User :   i think googling things online has made me very anxious about this
Doctor :   thats because of the infection
Doctor :   yes thats internet can be misleading
Doctor :   you will be fine
User :   even if it's lasted for a month?
Doctor :   thats because you never took medical advice or intervention
User :   i did go to the doctor two weeks ago
User :   that's where i was told i had an ear infection and given amxicillin
Doctor :   for the reflux?
User :   no not for the reflux
User :   for my ears nose and throat symptoms
Doctor :   well trust me here your reflux problems will also go
Doctor :   and for the infection you would have to extend the course
User :   i see
User :   when would Barrett's esophagus occur?
Doctor :   minimum 10 years
User :   i see
User :   thank you very much for easing my anxiety
User :   i have an appointment tomorrow and am feeling better about it
Doctor :   i am glad
Doctor :   you take care
Doctor :   and i assure you will be fone
Doctor :   fine
User :   thank you
User :   goodbye
Doctor :   good bye
