User :   Yes; thank you. My husband is 93 years old and i am noticing red pimples on the back of his testicles and they are bleeding. I noticed the blood in his Depend undergarment. He says they don't hurt or burn and one seems to be in a large area? What is this and should I take him to emergency. This happened to him earlier this week as well. Please advise and thank you.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   May I know when last time has he got this infection ?
User :   I don't know of it being an infection. This is the first time this has happened to him and I'm not sure what it is.
Doctor :   As per your instructions , it feels like an infection.
Doctor :   It can be a yeast or candid infcetion which is s o very normal.
User :   What should I do, Dr.? Is there anything I can put on it to clear it up or should I take him into his doctor and have it checked?
Doctor :   May I know the size of the red pustules that he has got ?
User :   They are pretty small. Not very large, but one appears to be kind of large.
Doctor :   Please start with 1. Canestan HC Cream daily in the evening.
User :   Okay. I can get that at the drug store, I'm sure
Doctor :   2. Clindamycin/Soframycin ointment in th eafternoon after thoroughly cleaning.
Doctor :   Yes both the ointments are OTC and can be got from the medical store.
User :   Okay, Doctor . How soon will I see any improvement?
Doctor :   Please see that the scrotum is kept dry and maintain cleanliness in the sorounding area.
User :   Okay. I can do that.
Doctor :   It might take a max. of 1 week, if personal hygeine is mentioned.
User :   Okay. He is washed every day. Should I use maybe Ivory Soap in that area for washing. He currently uses Irish Spring.
Doctor :   Please use AN ANTI-BACTERIAL soap : The medicated antibacterial soaps contain antibacterial chemicals such as triclosan which is alcohol. Apart from triclosan, triclocarban/trichlorocarbamide and PCMX/chloroxylenol, tetrasodium EDTA are generally used for antibacterial effect in these soaps. However, it must be remembered that since there are various types of bacteria, effectiveness against any given type of bacterium does not ensure that it is effective against other unrelated types too. The ingredients of antibacterial soaps are generally only contained at preservative level unless the product is marked antibacterial, antiseptic, or germicidal.
User :   Okay. Thank you so very much, Dr. Your advise is most appreciated.
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me, Take care, Bye for now.
User :   Good bye and good night.
Doctor :   Good night to you too.
