User :   i have been travelling lately and i just got back.
User :   the ppl who i left has a flu and cold.
Doctor :   ok
User :   also just a note i have asthma and i take advair 100
User :   so on friday i got a cold and nose congestion.

User :   and cough
Doctor :   any fever, chest pain ?
User :   when i do cough with chest pain.
User :   now slowly recovering form the cold still have it but the cough hasnt improved a bit
Doctor :   have u tried any medications ?
User :   any things that can help the recovering process?
Doctor :   May i know , where u reside ?
User :   i have been taking few.
User :   i reside in nyc.

Doctor :   Now , you can take some claritin or sudafed for relief
User :   i took penadol and mucinex D first few days but nothing
User :   then switched to dayquil and nyquil cold and flu and one day sinus.
Doctor :   also taking some antihistamines will help the nasal congestion
User :   can u recommend any antihistamines brands?
Doctor :   levoceterizine 5 mg will be helpful
User :   i used afrin severe congestion, shall i stop that?
User :   spray

Doctor :   In case you develop , any purulent expectoration, headache, fever, etc, it may indicate a bacterial infection
Doctor :   and this may need antibiotics for a few days
Doctor :   for the cough, you can try some cough lozenges, like strepsils or halls, etc
User :   so take levoceterizine 5 mg for congestion. how about cough and chest pain?

User :   robitussin i know, but is ibuprofen a brand or type?

User :   shall i take either robitussin ibuprofen or levoceterisine? or shall i take both?

Doctor :   robitussin for cough

Doctor :   levoceterizine for symptom relief like running nose, congestion, etc
User :   and if i develop fever, i should go to the doctors office?
Doctor :   ibuprofen will prevent the fever too
Doctor :   just relax, take adequate rest and sleep
Doctor :   rest will aid in the healing process
Doctor :   and prevent further infection
User :   and if i take ibuprofen i dnt need to take halls or any cough drops?
Doctor :   ibuprofen is a pain medication, it does not reduce cough

User :   and one more thing, in your opinion what is the best brand name and type pill for cold and flu?
Doctor :   SUDAFED cold and cough
User :   i use to take it but my doctor said its too strong, that is not good.
Doctor :   it relieves the symptoms better
