User :   hi, im a 31 year old female and have just been diagnosed as having arthritis in my neck....i also have numbness in both my palms..the doctor has said there is no link to my neck and this..i also am always feeling faint, sway to the side sometimes when im walking and i recently started to have wierd waves appear in my vision, i get headache like a sharp one when i cough or lean forward or stand up from the ground,at present i feel like my head is floaty?. is it possible to have a pinched nergve in my neck from the arthritis.?
Doctor :   hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   please give me few moments to read what you have typed.
User :   ok
Doctor :   your symptoms are suggestive of possible disc related issues that could pinge on the nerve roots in the neck
User :   i have 2 bulging disks aswell, according to my neck ct they are not pressing on anything
Doctor :   you would require a careful examination and MRI scan to see what is the current status
User : an mri will show up any pinching in my neck?
Doctor :   yes MRI shows tissue details more clearly than a CT
Doctor :   so minute details can be made out
User :   ok. can the athritis cause constant headache aswell?
User :   i have headaches for over 2 years now
User :   and what would cause athritis at my age
Doctor :   yes, arthritis along with disc issues can cause you headaches
User :   well atleast i have a cause for my headaches,,im over them..24/7 gets a bit
User :   do you know any treatments for the pain of this?
Doctor :   yes, if the impingement is severe then decompression surgery would be permanent treatment
Doctor :   else with physiotherapy and rehabilitation you will have temporary relief
Doctor :   along with medications
User :   oh..i have it in my hips it possible that this has been in my body for longer than ive felt
Doctor :   it could be possible, if you have defiunite arthritis, then with time, they are known to involve other joint, especially joints involved in bearing weight
Doctor :   like hips, knee, ankle
User : not overwieght,so its a mystery as to why i have actually underwieght
User :   ive been told overwieght people will get it earky in life
Doctor :   ok. it is not your wieght , you could be normal or underweight, but due to arthritis
Doctor :   the wear and tear of joints is faster and severe in your case when compared to normal people
Doctor :   go ahead with a complete check with orthopedic surgeon
Doctor :   along with MRI of neck and x-rays of affected joints
User :   ok...thanks for ur time are u in oz?
Doctor :   to look for the exact cause
Doctor :   and get started on appropriate treatment modalities to help you
User :   modalities?
Doctor :   yes, by modalities, I meant physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises
User :   ok
Doctor :   these consist further of short wave diathermy, wax bath, IFT etc that help in tissue healing and also relieving pain
Doctor :   once pain and symptoms are in control, exercises to strengthen muscles can be started
Doctor :   to help you avoid pain
User :   i have found excersise of late has agravated my got to the point one day that i couldnt lift my leg without feeling like i needed the joints regreased,so to speak....
Doctor :   no, exercises to be avoided when pain is present
Doctor :   also, they should be done under supervision and guidance to avoid aggravation or precipitation of pain
User :   i guess physio excersise would help strenthen these muscles though in a different way
Doctor :   yes, they would as they are structured ones and you would always have someone to monitor yuou
Doctor :   *you
User :   lol.. ive been banned by my hubby from unsupervised excersise after i blanked out whilst doing some
User :   feel like a

Doctor :   is there anything else you would like to ask me?
User :   no thanks...i will let you attend to others
