I am so confused why this is happening. I can't seem to get an answer. I have had a blood work up and an ultrsound of my heart? Any advice would be great.
Doctor :   pain in the neck since when?
User :   about a week
Doctor :
did you had any injury to neck?
User :   no
Doctor :   does the pain radiates to the shoulder
User :   No. I was i n the er a few times in the last few weeks with some problems. they said i was having a panic attack and once for fluid in my ears.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
may i know your age
User :   33
Doctor :
are you on any medications?
User :   I am taking ativan at night and just started taking zoloft.
Doctor :   did this help you with your panic attacks

User :   The ativan does seem to relax me.
Doctor :   what about relaxation techniques

User :   I really have tried everything! Do you think this could all be related to anxeity?
Doctor :   when the blood work up is normal and atavin is effective in relieving some of your symptom. it is most likely anxiety
User :   I just don't understand why this would cause my neck and ears to hurt. I am so confused by the whole thing! sometime when I lay down my neck feels jumpy and my chest feels shaky.
Doctor :   the symptoms of the anxiety or panic attack are
Doctor :   Heart palpitations or a racing heart

a person can have any one or all ot the symptom
Doctor :
Doctor :   confusion and fear is more prominent symptom
User :   I have pretty much all that! I just can't seem to control it! The ativan does work but my dr said to just take it once a day if needed. Could i take it more often or should i ask her for something else?
Doctor :   drugs have limited role

Doctor :
more so after a period of time they will become ineffective
Doctor :   so the medications should be as minimum as possible with the maximum relaxation effect
Doctor :   anxiety control technique's with the combination of the drugs will offer better relief and cure in short duration than the drugs alone
Doctor :   you can ask you doc about the anxiety control techniques
User :   So all of this i am feeling is normal with panic attacks. I am just scared it is something that someone is missing.
Doctor :   yes what all you feel is part of the panic attack.
Doctor :
and now you should learn how to over come the panic attack
User :   When I do have these attacks I don't feel stressed! I guess thats why I can't understand why this is happening!
Doctor :   need not be
Doctor :
stress is expressed as panic attack or anxiety
Doctor :
here the usual perception of stress will be absent because of the physical symptoms of anxiety
Doctor :
this is what is confusing in the most
User :   I do not see my dr for two more weeks. Any advice on things I can do till then? Anything would be helpful!
Doctor :   continue the drug as advised
Doctor :   do practice the breathing control exercise
Doctor :   it is like when ever you feel the symptoms take a deep breath and hold it as long as possible and then release

Doctor :
keep doing it till the anxiety disappears
Doctor :
you will see the duration of the anxiety will be reducing initially and then the frequency latter
Doctor :   even after the breathing control technique is not working than consume the zoloft tab
Doctor :
regular exercise in the morning only to relax the muscles will act as adjunct to the medications
Doctor :
exercise for 30 minutes only in the morning
User :   Ok. I take the zoloft everyday at 1pm. Do I take another one if I can't get rid of the anxiety or just the one a day?
Doctor :   take one tablet per day
Doctor :
do not consume more than one tab
Doctor :   if you have regularized at a particular time than continue the same timing
Doctor :   which tablet you are taking as and when needed is it the ativan?
User :   Yes
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   continue the same timings of 1 pm everyday for the zoloft and try using the breathing technique initially when ever you feel the symptoms
Doctor :
if the anxiety is terminated than no need to take the ativan if not you can consume one tablet
Doctor :
have you heard of yoga?
User :   Yes.
Doctor :
why don't you try joining a yoga program
User :   Are the dvd any good because I hace a hard time doing stuff like that because I work full time and I have a daughter that keeps me busy?
Doctor :   you need to practice yoga under supervision initially for the first 15 days. once you learn the basic skills than its a self technique and can do watching dvd.
