User :   My wife received back a blood test result from an Insurance company of 25 and a notation of (HIGH) next to the number. It says normal is 0 - 4. Can you recommend what our next steps should be? Is is a family practice doctor or what type of specialist should we seek out? Thank you!
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Just looking for a recommendation on our next step. I forgot to mention the result was a 25 on her Red Blood Count (RBC)
Doctor :   May i know what test was performed?
User :   Wow, I really don't know. It was a blood test where they were checking all types of things...protein, white blood cells, red blood cells. I guess a standard blood test for Insurance see if she is at risk of any disease where they wouldn't want to insure her
Doctor :   I will not be able to comment, if I cannot know what the test was for.
User :   Are you not able to suggest what type of doctor to see? That is the basis of my question. Do we seek out a Primary Care physician when someone has a high RBC count or is there a specialist we should seek out? I am not looking for a diagnosis on her by chat. Just who I should seek out locally.
Doctor :   If its the blood count, then you will have to see a hematologist.
User :   perfect. That is all I needed. Thanks!
Doctor :   Do you have any other query.
