User :   I was stupid and took a small piece of cooked pasta (about 1 to 2 cm wide, 1-1.5 inches long, very smooth) and put it in my butt. I believe its affecting my bowel movements. They havent stopped, but have slowed. This happened Monday night (2 nights ago). I do not feel any pain, but want to know if a laxative will work. I am embarrased to go to the family doctor about this.
Doctor :   HI
Doctor :   dr
User :   hello
Doctor :   let me read ur query
User :   i am so embarrassed about this, plese tell me i can take an over the counter laxative
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   yes
User :   yes what?
Doctor :   in your case taking a over the counter laxative will work
User :   are you sure?
Doctor :   yes definitely
User :   because i have been reading online and dont want to have to get a colonoscopy
User :   why do you say "in my case" a laxative will work?
Doctor :   sorry, it is just a figure of speech
Doctor :   no you dont need a colonoscopy to get that out
User :   i have seen things on the internet like toy cars and other things, and they said to see a doctor immediatly
User :   would something like this be stopping my bowel movements though? I feel like it shouldnt
User :   like it would be easy enough to push out, you know?
Doctor :   in such cases, what happens is that there would be pain and discomfort
User :   I feel differnet, like bloated. If i push down very hard on my stomach it hurts a little bit. but there isnt much discomfort.
User :   A lot of it is my brain i think just worrying about it
Doctor :   and to prevent infection they need to remove it out by a procedure
User :   like i said, it slowed my bowels, they havent been like usual, but still some comes out
Doctor :   it means there is a sort of blockage
Doctor :   but u dont have major symtptoms
User :   and what would that be?
Doctor :   so u will just take laxative s
User :   ok, anything special I should look for in laxatives?
User :   i am also scared that the laxative wont work and that will cause pain since it will build up
Doctor :   no not at all
Doctor :   the laxative will work fine and perfect
Doctor :   any laxative that is available overt he counter , will work just fine
User :   ok. What percentage do you think it will work? Im just REALLY scared Doctor. What sort of symptoms would i get that would need a doctor visit?
Doctor :   99% it will work
Doctor :   the rest one percent, if it does not come out, you may just need a finger evacuation
Doctor :   BUT i am 200% sure that u dont need any major procedure
User :   ok, thank you
User :   so what major symptoms would I get that i would have to go to the hospital?
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   any bleeding, severe pain, constipaiton for a few days , bloating , fever - these are symptoms u need to kepp a check for
User :   just curios also of your credentials, I mean this is the first time Im using this, you could be some regular person
Doctor :   I am a qualified internist with 10 yrs of experinence
User :   ok. sorry, just curious. My hands and feet feel a bit cold, but I think a lot of this is my worrying about what I would have to tell my parents if i had to go to a doctor
Doctor :   are u there ?
User :   i have 20 seconds
Doctor :   i understand
Doctor :   you dont need to worry
User :   ok doctor, thank you so much
Doctor :   its just anxiety
Doctor :   you are welcome
