User :   My friend has been suffering from an allergy to something.
He gets bad cold(running nose), headache, throat pain.
Is there any permament solution to it.
Doctor :   hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   since when he is having these symptoms?
User :   since past 4 yrs
Doctor :   do the symptoms get worse in dusty environment?
Doctor :   are the symptoms worse on waking up in the morning? or they tend to worsen over the day as the day passes?
User :   no , not in dusty env
User :   am confirming
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   could you describe the headache in detail? is it a dull headache or sharp pain? does it get worse on looking/bending down?
User :   yes they tend to worsen over the day as the day passes
Doctor :   is the throat pain present all the time or it gets more when swallowing?
User :   its a dull headache
Doctor :   does the headache get worse on looking/bending down?
User :   no
Doctor :   which part of head does it hurt the most? is it forehead or the entire head?
User :   throat pain is i he gets allergy attack.. next day
User :   entire head pains
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   i would suggest a few things to be done.
User :   is it allergy or something else
Doctor :   1) get a ENT examination to rule out sinusitis made worse due to allergy
Doctor :   2) an 'allergen patch test" to see what all he is allergic to such that the alergy attacks cabn be avoided
Doctor :   3) warm salt water gargles for throat pain relief 2-4 times a day
Doctor :   4) Take Tab Dolo Cold 1 tablet 2 times a day for 3 days
Doctor :   5) if the cause is found to be allergic upon examination, he might be prescribed nasal spray to be used to combat allergy
User :   what is this tablet for
Doctor :   the tablet is for cold , throat pain and headache
User :   ok its for general purpose and not for allergy right
Doctor :   but throat pain is best managed when combined with warm salt water gargling
User :   ya he does that
Doctor :   no, allergic cause needs to be confirmed first
Doctor :   and then specific treatment can be given
User :   oh ok and that is thru that test
Doctor :   yes through the allergen test
User :   is there any way to get relief during the attack
Doctor :   during the attack, best is to change the location to avoid the allergen causing it, and blowing off the nose and taking warm fluids
Doctor :   untill relieved or medical help is sought
User :   point 5 is also done had release for 6 months then restarted
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   you mean to say he has already used the nasal spray?
User :   currently he takes only during allergu attack - cetirizine
Doctor :   cetrizine is mild antihistamine, if his symptoms are recurrent, he should consider seeing ENT specialist and changing it to higher ones
User :   if he blows out nose .. irritation in nose increases
Doctor :   ok
User :   ok
Doctor :   then in his case, he should avoid doing that
User :   ok
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said?
User :   yes Sir
Doctor :   please get back to me in case you have doubts
