User :   I am doing a school project i would like to know if you can help me with the following questions: can you tell me what issues, concerns, and/or challenges can you identify because of the multicultural population? what practices do you employ to help serve this multicultural population? can you give me some example?

User :   and not only about health problems, but what you and other staff members come across
Doctor :   For example height, 5feet may be considered short for an African, Russian or Europian, whereas it is within normal height limit for a Japanese

Doctor :   Yes I have come across many such instances as I practice in a country that has the most number of languages & religions- India
Doctor :   I have avoided misunderstanding in most cases as I know 6languages

Doctor :   but the moment I come across a patient who speaks a 7th language

Doctor :   there is this difficulty in getting the relevant history

Doctor :   Usually I was able to find a person either in the patients family or among
Doctor :   my staff who knew the language
Doctor :   or else it was communication with gestures

User :   what services do you believe that is needed in the healthcare setting to help this multicultural population?
Doctor :   the service providers should know a few more languages, should know the various morbidity patterns of different communities

Doctor :   Yes culture has its hand everywhere, in what aspect do you want?
