User :   Hello. So about 2 months ago I got a yeast infection. I took some clotrymasol and it went away. One week later, I began having pain again, but without the itching. I took a stronger perscription medicine for a yeast infection, but it didn't really seem to change anything. I checked for a UTI, but it came out negative. After this, my doctor thought it was urethritis, and gave me z-pac antibiotics, which I took for 5 days. It seemed to get rid of most of the systems, but the next week, my vagina just felt a little sore. I assumed it was just healing from all it had gone through, and also could have been affected because I was also menstruating then. But then, this weekend, it began hurting more again. Or rather, sometimes it would feel sore, other times it felt numb, and a few times it felt rather itchy. My lower abdomen has also been rather in pain, and I have had various muscle aches. I have a gynological exam next week, but I think I'm in enough pain that I'd like to have a pelvic exam before then. Do you think this is a good idea? Also, do you have any idea what I might have?
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
Doctor :   let me read what you have typed
User :   ok
Doctor :   the symptoms you describe suggest severity
User :   uhoh
Doctor :   you should consider getting a pelvic examination done soon, before next week
User :   ok
Doctor :   along with vaginal swab test to identify the causative organism
User :   i'm going to try to get one tomorrow, i think
Doctor :   was ultrasound scan advised for you?
User :   no
User :   i'm not pregnant
User :   i've also been checked for stds, which came out negative
Doctor :   if not getting one done will help to know if there are any problems due to structures inside
User :   i see
Doctor :   like with ovaries or cervix
User :   ah, ok
User :   any ideas what it might be?
User :   from just the symptoms?
Doctor :   the symptoms suggest either ovarian or any other pelvic pathology causing congestion.
User :   oh
Doctor :   the further investigations will help to find exact cause
User :   right
Doctor :   and direct treatment in the right way
Doctor :   so get urgent appointment scheduled to have a pelvic examination along with pelvic ultrasound
User :   ok
Doctor :   and blood tests to rule out hormonal abnormalities
User :   ok
User :   are these things fairly treatable, any idea?
Doctor :   request a vaginal smear and PAP test to identify the causative organism for infection
User :   right
Doctor :   the treatment would be based on your test results.
User :   yeah
User :   i haven't had actual sex, just oral sex, so i'm rather doubting it'd be hpv
Doctor :   ok
User :   is it very possible to get it without having actual sex?
Doctor :   if there was any genital stimulation involved you could get it
Doctor :   else there could be flare up of existing infection
User :   ok
User :   damn, i've tried to be on top of it and get it fixed early on
User :   they just kept on treating for other things
Doctor :   ok. early confirmation will help to avoid complications
Doctor :   so get a thorough check done this time
User :   yeah, ok
Doctor :   discuss about the suggested tests
User :   right
Doctor :   and get them done
User :   yeah
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   i dunno. i haven't had any discharge. is that abdormal for vaginal infections?
Doctor :   not necessarily, if infection is present, sometimes it can dry up the secretion, and you will not have a obvious discharge unless infection is severe.
Doctor :   but the abdominal pain indicates that the infection has spread to the pelvic cavity
User :   crap
Doctor :   and an ultrasound will help to identify the changes
User :   ok
User :   well, thanks. I'll try to get an appointment asap
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   is there anything else you would like to ask me?
User :   would taking advil be ok?
User :   to try and decrease the pain?
Doctor :   it will help reduce the severity, take it along with antacid to prevent gastritis
User :   ok
User :   well, i think that's all i can ask
User :   thank you
Doctor :   more than Advil, taking antispasmodics will help
User :   ok
User :   thank you.
Doctor :   to reduce abdomen pain
User :   right
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
User :   bye
