Doctor :   can you tell me is your son having any symptoms ?
User :   I have my son whose platelets has increased in week time
User :   it was 2.91 on 25th Of feb and today the count has increased to 4.9 . Is it life threating
User :   or ist it slight increase in the platelets
Doctor :   why was the test conducted ?
User :   he had red rashes in his limbs and doctors said its a symptom of HSP .. from 25th feb onwards he is not keeping well . HSP was under follow up and all doctors is following
Doctor :   the normal limit is upto 4.5, i see a slight increase, there are many conditions causing the increase
User :   for a 5 year kid is it life threating
Doctor :   no its not life threatening
Doctor :   any further tests are due ?
User :   can Platelets count be treated and can doctors get the count in control with proper medicine
Doctor :   ok let me explain that increase in platelets is just a symptom and its NOT the condition
User :   no we have to show the report to doctor tomorrow morning and will get to know the plan of action.
Doctor :   the treatment is directed towards the cause
Doctor :   and not the symptom
Doctor :   if the physician is suspecting
Doctor :   HSP then HSP is usually diagnosed based on the typical skin, joint, and kidney findings. Throat culture, urinalysis, and blood tests for inflammation and kidney function are used to suggest the diagnosis.
Doctor :   once the condition is diagnosed and treated the levels of platelets will come to normal
User :   we are hoping so doctor .. But I'm sure its not the sign of Cancer ..
Doctor :   no dont worry, be positive, let all the tests be done and then we can pinpoint the cause
Doctor :   even a minor infection can cause this increase
Doctor :   as i have telling you that there is NO condition called as high platelets. its away body responds to the condition
Doctor :   so once we know what is causing it
User :   yes s.. His limbs are actually are covered with Rashes...
Doctor :   then i will be able to tell you the location where you can take for the best available treatment
Doctor :   so we should be patient and get further testing
User :   Doctor did informed it will remain for 4-6 weeks.
Doctor :   they they do stay up for a while
User :   Can I get in touch wid you through chatting or can I get your direct number
User :   could this be one of reason for increase in Platelet count
Doctor :   you can log in and ask for me , i am Dr Oberoi here and if i am not busy with other patients i will be glad to guide you
Doctor :   there are N number of reasons for a high count . some trivial and some serious thats why we need tests so that we know exactly whats the cause
Doctor :   a infection too can cause a increase.
Doctor :   so as i said we should wait till all the relevant tests are over
Doctor :   i can understand your concern
User :   for lst one week he was taking Cefoprox XP 750 mg shots ...
Doctor :   just wait and the test will tell us exactly the cause and he will be treated accordingly
