It can be caused by heavy exercise, severe bacterial infections and sometimes it is due to high temperatures of the surrounding environment. A fever is not a illness, but it's a sign that something is wrong in the body. Fevers aren't necessarily bad. In fact, fevers play a role in helping your body fight with infections. Generlly fevers go away in a relatively small time usually within a few days. Not all fevers need treatment with medications.
