Rabies vaccine is a vaccine given to man against rabies which is a highly fatal viral disease affecting the brain. Rabies is caused by bite or licks of rabid animals such as dogs,cats,jackals and wolves. Rabies is only communicable disease of man that is always fatal.

i dont think u need vaccine because now u have no chance of rabies
vaccine to be taken within 10 days of bite.
after 2 month no use of vaccine ,
if ur dog is vaccinated ,u need not to worry.

The immunity given by modern rabies vaccine 2 doses lasts for 2-3 years. If it is followed by booster dose, the immunity is seen to last for 10 years.So you don't need revaccination for a bite after 2 days of previous vaccination.

As you are going to Africa and you have to campaign outside a lot there is risk for animal bite especially dog bite.

i am taking Anti rabies vacine (verorab) for an exposure which occured on 25th september 2012 v minor scratch by tooth and nails of a dog i have taken the medicine IM ON D0 D3 D7 D14TH and going to take one on D28 which is going to be on 22nd october 2012. my question he the Dog scratched me AGAIN last night on 11th october so what should i ( 1) do i need to repeat the course again (2) or contnue with the coruse????? The fever your son has now developed is not related to the dog bite. You may give him paracetamol every 4 hours according to his body weight for the next 24 hrs. If it does not subside in a day, you may take him to the Emergency room or prepone his appointment with his doctor.

I WAS BITEN ON THE LOWER LIP BY A DOG ON THURSDAY OF LAST WEEK. ON FRIDAY I HAD A TETANUS SHOT AND AM ON ANTIBOTICS. THE DOG HAD RABIES VACCINATION . if ur dog vaccinated against rabies than no need of any vaccination to u. if ur dog no received vaccine than u should go for anti-rabies vaccine. go for vaccine schedule 0, 3, 7 day anti rabies vaccine. if than ur dog is ok than there is usually no need of further vaccine.
