Hi doctor what are the causes of widal fever?
It is not widal fever. It is widaltest which is usually done in typhoid fever, and paratyphoid fever. This is caused by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. If you are widaltest positive then you have typhoid. Thanks
Took a widaltest, here are the results of test. O Reactive, Serum titre-1:160. Is it indicative that i have typhoid? Prescibed for ofloxacin, is it ok?
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The O antigen titres 1:160 is suggestive of typhoid infection.
Ofloxacin is one of the antibiotics effective for typhoid infection.
Thanks and take care
