What Causes Lumps On The Lip ?

Hey im 22 years old and i am concerned with some lumps that are in my lip... It all started out as a blister in my lower lip from biting it. I didnt pop it and it went away on its on. Well two days later a lump took its place. Its in the very top corner of my lip and is visible. There are also a few more lumps right under it but they do not stick out. I have had them for three years and it hasnt moved in size at all and i have felt no symptoms or anything. They just havent went away so i thought i would ask. Oh also it has made my lip sort of bumpy. What is your opinion on what it is doc?

Dentist, Orthodontics 's  Response
lip biting causes injury to underlying sebaceous salivary glands. in your case its the same.all you need is to see a oral surgeon. he will remove the encapsulated structure and the lumps will disappear permanently.
take care

General & Family Physician Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani's  Response
Hi, Ctrill,
welcome to health care magic,
The lumps you have recently are mainly due to herpes simplex, a viral origin.
You might have cracks at the angle of your mouth causing some infection resulting some bump like appearance.
For old bumps you consult your doctor.
Take B complex,folic acid tablets.
ok and bye.
