What Causes Itching Sensation Around Anus?

Hi there, I have been experiencing itchiness around the anus area for about 3 days now. It is especially itchy at night before I go to bed. It is really uncomfortable and I'm not sure what is is. I was hoping you could advise me on what actions to take.

Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion.

The most common reason for itch around anus is fungal infection.
As the area tends to remain moist / wet, the infection is easily acquired at this site.

I usually advice my patients to take tablet fluconazole once a week and apply creams containing miconazole/clotrimmazole twice daily over the lesions.

Keep the area clean and dry.

Change and wash the clothes daily.

For symptomatic relief, you can take tab levocetrizine 5 mg night time.
