Pregnant. Prescribed With Calcium, Iron, Folic Acid Tablets. Post Delivery Side-effects Of Medication, Is Multivitamin Tablet Advisable?

My wife is pregnant about 24 weeks, Doctor advise to take calcium 500 mg morning and night. , iron capsule and folic acid tab morning and night. continuously until delivery. please suggest that taking continuous of iron tablet will cause any issue after delivery ? My wife didnt take proper food, can i advise to take multi vitamin tablet (becosules ) twice a week?

there is extermely no harm in taking iron,folic acid and calcium through out pregnancy
you never need to worry about that
the amount of blood required for mother&child through out pregnancy as well as post pregnancy needs to be replenished by the iron tablets she takes ,this is recommended in all pregnant women to ensure healthy pregnancy and delivery

coming to folic acid,it helps in avoiding any brain defects and neural tube defects of forming fetus

any kind of medication including what you mentioned can be given only when your doctor agrees to it

educate your wife regarding her diet and the benefits of taking good diet to deliver a healthy baby
encourage her to take good food,rather than depending on supplements
