Had Vitrectomy, Gas Bubble, Wavy Vision. How Long Will It Take To Heal?

I had a vitrectomy 5 weeks ago for removal of scar tissue buildup and fluid in they eye. I had a gas bubble that lasted 2 weeks. After the bubble dissipated, i now experience wavy vision . Anyone else experience this and how long did it take for it to heal? I called the doc s office and they said this was normal , but no time frame was given as to when it might go away. - See more at: WWW.WWWW.WW

Following vitrectomy and injection of gas there are a lot of visual disturbances. Improvement and the rate at which that happens is very difficult to pinpoint but most patients experience wavy vision that takes close to 6 months to go away. Some patients experience improvement that is prolonged for a year. There are others who get used to the vision distortion and it bothers them much less after a while. A lot of this depends on the actual cause of retinal detachment and the amount of fibrous proliferation.
