Cause For Loss Of Appetite And Tiredness?

I have been taking topiramate 100mg QD and was doing well with it except now. I'm having symptoms of loss of appetite, extreme tiredness and feeling like crying. I wonder since I had to change pharmacy due to the new Health Care plan and the manufacture is different could that be a problem? Could a different manufacture have a different component compound that is not the same causing these symptoms? Topiramate is being used for seizures.

Thanks for your query.

These are features of depression and can be partly caused/aggravated by Topiramate.

Consult your treating doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and may either change the medicine; or, if he feels that depression is not due to Topiramate, he will put you on anti-depressants.

Topiramate is used to treat epilepsy in children and adults, and it was originally used as an anticonvulsant.
This drug has been also investigated for use in treating obesity especially to reduce binge eating.
Long time use of this drug may cause weight loss.
You have to take B12,folic acid,minerals,l-carnitine,protein and other supplements to improve your general health.
Ask your doctor for this problem.Your doctor will guide you better according your general condition.
