Urologist 's  Response
hi, there can be several causes of urgency, including infection in urine or prostate. however, 'prostate growth spurt' is not a cause for the same, it happens in all male teens at puberty. Prostate growth occurring after 50 yrs of age can cause problems, not at your age. If you are not satisfied with current treatment, consult a urologist. Also, avoid fizzy drinks/tea/coffee, keep fluid intake to upto 8-10 glasses/day. More fluid intake means more trips to the toilet. Try diverting your mind when your urgency begins, gradually you may be able to hold urine for longer time. good luck.
