Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
The first step in treatment of GERD is life style modification.
Those are 1. loose weight if you are over weight 2.Avoiding large meals 3.Waiting 3 hours after a meal before lying down 4.Elevating the head of the bed 8 inches 5.Avoiding alcohol, coffee, chocolate, citrus juice, and tomato-based products.
The 2nd one is medicinal treatment which are antacids,H2 receptor antagonists, proton pump inhibitors, prokinetics and reflux inhibitors. It should be prescribed according to your condition by your treating doctor. With proper treatment and follow up you will get relief.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
