Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Arthritis. Using Z-Pac And Azithromycin. Suggestion?

Hi I am.a.50 yr. Old man. I have been told by Dr.'s and Neorologist's that if they have ever seen someone diagnosed correctly with FibroMyalgia it is me. I've had symptoms since approx. Age 8-9 joint pain hips constant etc. When I turned 40 my symptoms began to rapidly worsen, especially the chronic fatigue. It worked its way to having absolutely no more days of feeling OK, Never". Not since I turned 40. I have arthritis in every joint 12 effected disc's in my back. They say there is not a spot on my back that doesn't have arthritis. And it is encasing my spinal cord at my neck and lower back. The pain is constant, severe and drugs and lifetime of pain isn't the biggest issue but the chronic fatigue has taken over any quality of life I may have had . I almost feel as if I have the flu 24/7/365 fatigued/icky feeling with anger and hopelessness. I was on an anti biotic therapy a few yrs. Ago after two yrs of it I started to feel slightly better. And then my doctor disappeared. And haven't been able to find another willing to prescribe long term antibiotics. I was on two 100 mg. Minocyclyn and every other month a 1000 mg twice a day for 2 wks of Z-Pac Azythromyacin . Please help desperate single dad to 10 yr.old Severely Autistic daughter who needs much more of me.Thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Fibromyalgia needs a multimodal management protocol.

A non-pharmacological adjunctive method of treatment of fibromyalgia is as follows -
• Dietary supplements: antioxidants (fresh fruit juices), coenzyme Q10, ginkgo biloba, S-adenosyl-methionine (SAM-e), vitamin B complex preparations
• Manual therapy: chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation,
physical therapy, myofascial release therapy, massage therapy,
reflexology and Reiki may help
• Trigger point injections
• Pain management: epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, cryoanalgesia, implanted neurostimulator device, morphine pump
• Spiritual and mind-body: virtual reality therapy, hypnotherapy, spiritual healing, meditation
• Mind-body relaxation: yoga, tai chi etc
• TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
