Hi. I have a swollenthumb and it becomes very itchy sometimes. It is not always swollen but when it does it becomes hard to bend my thumb.
i think it can be trigger thumb. It occurs due to a nodule formed at the base of the thumb. I would suggest you to show it to orthopaedic surgeon. There is role of steroid injection in to it.

My 15 yrs old son hurt is thumb playing basketball. The thumb is swollen but not hurting. What can i use to get the swelling down
Hello. Thank you for your question. This is a very common injury. The first thing to do is apply ice in the first few hours after the injury. You can expect it to be a bit more painful the next day. We want to use the thumb as little as possible for the next few days to rest it. Within a few days after the injury, it should be fine. If swelling persists without improvement, consult your doctor.
