hi
chances are that you are getting medications for pain
the pain medicines that are opioids ar opioid like
these medicines are known to cause constipation

i wont really be worried about it
stop the pain mediicnes
and if there is too much pain, reduce the frequency or dose
better still change to a different group of pain killer medicines

as per constipation associated with spinal surgery
the spinal trauma is known to cause constipation as well as loss of bladder control
so if the latter is present, then consider spinal trauma
else not
besides spinal surgery is a highly speacialized field
a neurosurgeon will not make a mistake as basic as this

hope this all helps answer your doubts
best of luck
