Have Problem With The Spinal Cord

I just received my MRI and I have a10mm tear and - 8mm tear in my disk, I also gave disk disease. And have a disk touching my L4 nerve. The doctor did a spinal injection. However, I have had 2 RFs, afew series of injections followed by visits to PT, DO, Accupun. Massages. And nothing works. I suggested I wanted to have a SCS Spinal Cord Stimulater. But he wants to do all that junk again and I don't want to waste money and time. What should I do.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
These symptoms are part of lumbar disc degeneration with PIVD where the nerves get compressed by the protruded disc.
There are several treatment modalities with medicines, physiotherapy and with injections in the back called epidural injections and root/facet blocks.
If you don’t get better with these treatment ,I suggest you undergo surgery, by which the nerves are decompressed by removing the protruded disc (discectomy), which would significantly improve your symptoms

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
