Operation should be reserved for bi- or trimalleolar fractures, open fractures, injuries which compromise the skin or those involving the plafond or for patients who develop painful nonunion.
 
I fell and hurt my medial malleolus. It was bruised for a couple days and went away. Two weeks later there is still sharp pain when walking. Ideas?

I have a painful shooting/burning pain in my anterior medial thigh. The pain runs in a distal line to about my knee. It only last a few seconds.
